Grove GMK4100B Crane Overview and Specifications

The Grove GMK4100B is a very capable all-terrain crane. It has a maximum lift capacity of 100 tons (91 t), 167 ft. (51 m) main boom max length, and a 49 ft. (15 m) max jib length. It’s powered by a Mercedes-Benz type OM 501 LA engine which generates up to 390 (290 kW), and the 106 gallon (400 l) fuel tank keeps refueling breaks to a minimum.

It comes standard with a 21 ton (19.3 t) counterweight system which is made up of various sections that can be hydraulically installed/​removed, with main and auxiliary hoists that are powered by an axial piston motor with planetary gear and brake. There’s also a thumb-thumper” hoist drum rotation indicator.

The 4100B has a hydraulic system consisting of 2 separate circuits, 1 axial piston variable displacement pump with electronic power limiting control and load sensing, and 1 gear pump to control the swing. In addition, there are thermostatically-controlled oil coolers to keep oil at optimum operating temperature.

The all-aluminum cab of the Grove GMK4100B has a number of features operators will love. These include: operator and passenger seats with pneumatic suspensions, an engine-dependent water heater, and complete instrumentation and driving controls.
