Grove RT500C Crane Overview and Specifications

The Grove RT500C is a nimble and versatile rough-terrain hydraulic crane. It has a max lift capacity of 28 tons (25 t), a main boom max length of 70 ft. (21 m), and a 23 ft. (7 m) max jib length. The RT500C is driven by a six-cylinder, Turbocharged and water-cooled Cummins 6BT 5.9 L diesel engine which generates up to 130 (97 kW) and a 60 gallon (227 l) fuel tank.

It comes equipped with a remote-mounted powershift transmission system, which has six forward and reverse speeds — three in high range and three in low range — and an independent power steering system. It also comes with a removable counterweight that is bolted to the turntable mast.

The all-steel cab of the Grove RT500C also has its share of notable features. It comes with acoustical lining, tinted safety glass, and a comfortable operator’s seat that comes with crane controls integrated into the armrest. It also comes with a telescoping tilt steering wheel, air fan, windshield washer and wiper, and, even, an ashtray.

There are also a bunch of options available for those looking to push this rough-terrain crane a bit further. Options like: boom-mounted work lights, an engine block heater, hook blocks, a high-speed glide system, air conditioning, and an auxiliary hoist.
