Grove RT500DXL Crane Overview and Specifications

The Grove RT500DXL is an excellent hydraulic crane for rough terrains. It comes standard with a 30 ton (27 t) max lift capacity, a 90 ft. (27.4 m) main boom max length, and a max jib length of 43 ft. (13 m). The RT500DXL is powered by a six-cylinder, Turbocharged Cummins 6BT5.9 diesel engine that can generate up to 145 (108 kW), while the fuel tank can hold up to 60 lons (227 l).

The box-section frame is made out of high-strength, low alloy steel, and it comes with a built-in hook block and headache ball stowage. The 500DXL also features an independent power steering system, full powershift transmission, and full hydraulic split-circuit, disc-type brakes operating on all wheels, making it a versatile crane.

The Grove RT500DXL also comes with a remarkable operator’s cab. The full vision, all-steel cab comes with acoustical lining and tinted safety glass throughout, protecting the driver from harsh jobsite conditions, and a deluxe operator seat complete with armrest-integrated crane controls. Other standard features include: an air fan, hot water heater, fire extinguisher, and a telescoping tilt wheel.

For those looking to push this nimble crane even further, there are a number of options available. These include: a cab spotlight, an engine block heater, a hoist-mounted worklight, an emergency steer pump, air conditioning, and a high-speed glide system.
