Grove RT522B Crane Overview and Specifications

The Grove RT522B is a highly-maneuverable rough terrain crane. It has a 24 ton (22 t) max lift capacity, a 78 ft. (24 m) main boom max length, and a 25 ft. (7.6 m) max jib length.

It’s driven by a Turbocharged and after-cooled Cummins 4BTA3.9 diesel engine which generates up to 130 (96.7 kW), full powershift transmission, and a 4 x 4 drive system. It comes standard with a load moment and anti-two block system which provide electronic displays of parameters like boom radius, angle, length, tip height, relative load moment, warning of impending two-block condition, maximum permissible load, and load indication.

The Grove RT522B also features a comfortable all-vanized steel fabricated cab that comes with acoustical lining and safety glass. The cab hosts a detailed dash panel which has gauges for all engine functions. It also comes with an adjustable seat, air fan, swing horn, and tachometer.

The box-section frame is fabricated from high-strength, low-alloy steel, and it comes with essential outrigger housings and front/rear towing and tie-down lugs.

For those looking to push this rough-terrain crane’s capabilities even further, there are several options available. Such options include: a dealer installed auxiliary hoist, headache ball, hookblock, and a dealer installed boom nose.
