Demag AC 250-1 Crane Overview and Specifications

The Terex-Demag AC 250 – 1 is an all-terrain crane with a maximum lift capacity of 275 tons. The maximum boom length is 262 feet and the maximum jib length is 118 feet. More sections of the boom can be purchased separately to increase the maximum length of the boom.

Both the superstructure and carrier engines of the AC 250 – 1 are made by Mercedes. The carrier is rated at 612 horsepower, powerful enough to move the AC 250 – 1 around the jobsite. The superstructure engine is tier III compliant and is rated at 279 horsepower.

The hydro-pneumatic suspension system is hydraulically lockable. It also comes with axle load compensation and manual or automatic levelling depending on what the job calls for. The dual circuit hydro semiblock steering system has an emergency steering pump active rear steering with different steering programs to fit any job. The brake system consists of a pneumatic dual circuit service brake acting on all wheels, disk brakes, abs, a hydraulic retarder integrated into the transmission, a sustained action brake, an exhaust brake, and a spring-loaded parking brake.

The cab of the carrier and the superstructure both include amenities to comfort the operator such as adjustable seating and air conditioning. The cab of the superstructure includes multiple safety features including handrails and tinted safety glass.
