Liebherr 280 EC-H Crane Overview and Specifications

The Liebherr 280 EC‑H tower crane is economical to transport, fast and easy to set up, and has innovative drivelines. This crane is powerful enough for medium to large construction projects. This tower crane has a max lift capacity of 12 metric tons (13.2 U.S. tons), with a maximum horizontal jib length of 70 m (230 ft). The lifting capacity at maximum length is 3.6 metric tons (3.9 U.S. tons). Different heights and tower combinations are available as well.

There are two submodels within the 280 EC‑H, the 280 EC‑H 12 Litronic has a max lift capacity of 12 metric tons (13.2 U.S. tons), and a horizontal jib length of 75 m (246 ft.). The EC‑H 12 has 3 configurations which use two different tower parts, 21 HC 290 and 24 HC 430.

The second model is the 280 EC‑H 16 Litronic has a maximum lift capacity of 16 metric tons (17.6 U.S. tons), and a horizontal jib length of 70 m (230 ft.). Similar to the EC‑H 12 it has 3 configurations and uses 21 HC 290 and 24 HC 630 tower structures.

The Liebherr 280 EC‑H individual crane components can be transported in the order in which they are later assembled. It has two tower structures, the 290 HC tower and 550 HC tower and they can be used separately or together, depending on the requirements of the job. The hoist unit has a 3 speed gearbox with electromagnetic shifting and a Eddy current brake. The drive unit of the trolley is frequency controlled and swing/​travelling unit uses fluid coupling.
