Bigge has the nation’s fastest growing crane fleet. Just last year, we doubled the size of our fleets in Virginia, Southern California and Salt Lake City, and opened our new Gulf Coast headquarters in Houston.

Bigge’s commitment to having the newest and most advanced crane fleet shows in the cranes we’ve acquired in our fleet in the last several months. All are available for bare rental. Some highlights include:

Liebherr LR1600/2

The Liebherr LR1600/2 is among the largest crawler cranes in Bigge’s fleet at 600 tons. It is the best machine on the market for erecting sails on 100 meter wind turbines, and has a larger capacity and greater reach than competing cranes, like the Manitowoc 16000 and Demag CC2800. It’s equipped with 108 meters of boom that allow it to lift up to 93 tons at an 18 meter radius.

The new Liebherrs are deployed out of our regional headquarters in Houston, and are available now for wind turbine erection.

Manitowoc 16000

Manitowoc first released the 16000 in 2005, and it has frequently been deployed by wind contractors since. Recently, Manitowoc has designed a new heavy boom configuration and exclusive new wind jib for the 16000, increasing the lift capacity to more effectively handle the larger turbines.

Bigge now has four 16000’s, all equipped with 292 feet of heavy boom and new 23 foot wind jib. With the heavy-boom attachment, the 16000 is at the top of its class for erecting 2.5 MW turbines on 80 meter & 85 meter towers.

Grove RT9130

The Grove RT9130 is a large capacity rough terrain crane ideal for work at refineries, as well as, for general civil and industrial construction projects. It has a reach well over 200 feet, the longest of any rough terrain crane. Its maximum capacity of 120 tons is also best in class. This crane is ideally suited for setting cages, tailing refinery vessels, and erecting tower crane sections.

Link-Belt RTC-8090 II

The Link-Belt RTC-8090 Rough Terrain crane has a 90 ton maximum lift capacity and 140 foot, five-section, hydraulic telescoping boom with quick reeve boom head.

Incorporating optional extensions, the maximum tip height is 238 feet. With 4 steering modes and 3 boom extension options, it is one of the most flexible cranes in its class. It uses an exclusive Confined Area Lifting Capacity (CALC) system, which allows it to work more effectively in smaller spaces.

Liebherr LR1200SX

The Liebherr LR 1200 Crawler crane has a maximum lifting capacity of 250 tons with a fully-hydraulic main boom maximum length of 384 feet. Liebherr's crawler cranes are among the most innovative of any manufacturer. With superior lift capacities in most configurations, a state-of-the-art CANBUS electronic system, and redundant safety systems, the quick and easy to assemble LR 1200 is both practical and cost effective.

Bigge recently added two LR1200’s to our growing rental fleet in Richmond, Virginia.

Kobelco CK1100G

Bigge recently added a 2011 Kobelco CK1100G Crawler Crane to its rental fleet. This is the first Tier IV compliant crawler in its class, and Bigge is Kobelco’s first customer in the U.S. for this machine. Bigge is an industry leader in keeping its fleet new and as environmentally friendly as possible. Bigge’s early adoption of Tier IV cranes like the Kobelco CK1100G helps Bigge keep ahead of California’s strict emission standards.
