Bigge provides heavy transportation and heavy lift services in the civil and industrial sectors for infrastructure and commercial projects.
An excellent example that illustrates Bigge's comprehensive engineering, land transportation, marine transportation and heavy lift services was our 2006 work on the new San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge. Bigge mobilized self-propelled, hydraulic platform trailers to transport the 2,000 ton bridge tub sections from the fabrication site in Vancouver, WA onto a barge. Upon arrival in San Francisco Bay, Bigge innovatively rotated the 2,000 ton sections 90 degrees on the live barge to achieve its lifting position. Bigge then raised the tub sections over 200 feet using our custom-engineered cantilever girders and computer controlled hydraulic strand jacks. Bigge precisely placed the massive tubs within 1/32 on their temporary supports. Bigge can provide our value-added solutions for the heavy lift and transportation activities of your project.
