Super Loads Carried for Indiana Clean Coal Plant
Bigge recently completed the first load of many for the Duke Energy IGCC project in Knox County, Indiana. Approximately 160 super-loads are being carried over 120 miles by Bigge in order to move the materials to the construction site. The latest haul made by Bigge transported a total weight of 1.2 million pounds.
The final load should be delivered by July 28, 2010 to the 630-megawatt IGCC facility, one of the cleanest and most efficient coal-fired power plants in the world.
In order to get these loads to their location, Bigge has used, approximately, ten different types of trailer configurations, as well as involved the Indiana State Police, local law enforcement, and over twenty different utility companies.
