Nuclear Power Plant Decommissioning – Rancho Seco
Bigge Power Constructors helped decommission the Rancho Seco nuclear plant, as part of the Rancho Seco Spent Fuel Movement Project. Bigge moved the spent fuel from the Fuel Pool to storage canisters, and then loaded and transported the canisters to an on-site storage facility using self-propelled platform trailers.
Bigge was required to engineer a solution for moving the fuel from the pool into the canisters, and then transporting the 21 canisters to storage.
