Bigge Completes 3,000 Mile Haul of Massive Vessel
Bigge's heavy transportation division recently hauled a 103 foot long refinery vessel weighing nearly 220,000 pounds from Texas to Northern California. The long distance haul took approximately seven weeks to travel over 3,000 miles across five states.
The seven weeks of drive time was only a fraction of the time spent in planning and coordinating over 200 permits throughout Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California.
The vessel was hauled on a six dolly beam and dolly transporter that was pulled and pushed by heavy duty tractors. The transporter configuration had an overall length of 185 feet and was 18 feet wide at the rear dollies.
