Bigge adds their fourth Manitowoc 16000 Crawler Crane; already deployed to Colorado
(SAN LEANDRO, CA) Bigge has purchased their fourth Manitowoc 16000 for their crane rental fleet. The Manitowoc 16000 is equipped with a 292 ft heavy boom and optimized for wind turbine erection with a special 23’ wind jib. This model is unparalleled at erecting 2.5 MW turbines on 80m & 85m towers.
This crane is already deployed setting sails on 85 meter turbines at the Northeastern Colorado Wind Energy Center. The 400 megawatt facility is among largest in the U.S.
Bigge recently was the first crane contractor to deploy the new heavy-boom Manitowoc 16000. With their three current Manitowoc 16000’s under contract for rent until the end of the year, Bigge has purchased a fourth 16000 to service its growing wind turbine erection business.
