Scope:
Shaughnessy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bigge, as subcontractor to INEEL, performs the following nuclear decommissioning work involving heavy lift and heavy transportation for the TAN Cask project.
- Lifted and loaded six (6) SNF nuclear spent fuel casks with weights to 120 tons each
- Transported the SNF casks vertically on a specialized depressed deck hydraulic platform trailers
- Transported the SNF casks some 25 miles inside INEEL and off loaded
Job Challenges:
Bigge Constructors will successfully deal with the following challenges on this project.
- Engineering unique solution for lifting and transportation utilizing specialized equipment
- Handling of six (6) radioactive spent fuel canisters
