Scope:
Bigge Crane and Rigging, as contractor to General Electric, performed the following heavy transport and heavy lifting activities at the Consumers Energy Cobb Station Plant:
- Engineering a custom rigging solution for removal of the plant’s 275 ton Westinghouse electric generator
- Erected, operated and disassembled a gantry system for trans-loading the new generator from rail delivery
- Transported the new generator approximately 1 mile by hydraulic platform trailer, lifted the 265 ton generator to the turbine deck and set
- Moved the old generator to on-site storage
