Scope:
Bigge Power Constructors, as contractors to Bechtel Power, performed the following heavy lifting activities for the Crockett Cogeneration Plant. Crockett is a gas-fired, combustion turbine, combined cycle plant based on the General Electric 7F single shaft design. Crockett was located on an extremely confined site between the UP rail lines, the C&H Sugar plant and San Francisco Bay.
- Engineering a custom gantry solution for placement of the plant’s centerline components
- Erected, operated and disassembled the gantry system with rod jacks
- Lifted the rail-delivered centerline components and traversed them to their foundations

- Engineering a unique solution to the lift of the components
- Erecting the gantry and handling the loads on a very confined site
