Demag AC 130-5 Crane Overview and Specifications

The Demag AC130‑5 is an all-terrain crane with a capacity of 140 tons and a maximum boom length of 197 feet.

The Demag AC130‑5 is powerful because of the parts put in it. The AC130‑5 is powered by a Scania DC13 diesel engine. This is a 500 horsepower engine that can ensure that any task you throw at it can be finished with ease. The suspension system is hydro-pneumatic with an axle load compensation. This allows for a smooth ride when the crane is mobile.

The steering system is a dual circuit with independent rear axle steering. Axles 1, 2, and 3 are mechanically connected while axles 4 and 5 are electro-hydraulically connected. The AC130‑5 is easily maneuverable because of the 6 different steering programs used to steer all six axles. By making the AC130‑5 easily maneuverable, operators can focus on ensuring safety on the jobsite instead of fighting the crane to move to where it needs to be.

The AC130‑5 was also made with the operator in mind. The cab of the crane includes tinted safety glass to shield the operator’s eyes from the sun’s rays and from debris that could fly into the cab. The cab also comes equipped with a heater. Many times jobs require for operation to continue throughout the year, and adding a heater allows for an operator to stay in a cab in conditions that would usually make operations stop.
