The GR-1000XLL‑4 is the newest rough terrain model from Tadano, this rough terrain crane has a maximum lift capacity of 100 tons. This new rough terrain has many new improvements and innovations over its predecessor, the GR-1000XL‑3, such as a longer boom with a length of 167.3’ (GR-1000XL‑3 boasted a 154.2’ boom, the new Smart Counterweight system which allows the operator to use two counterweight positions to increase the overall lifting capacity, and a redesigned cab to provide improved visibility and overall comfort.) The GR-1000XLL‑4 is one of two models of Tadano to feature the Smart Counterweight system which allows the counterweight to have two separate mounting positions, which can increase the lifting capacity by up to approximately 20% as per Tadano.
