Dec 11 2017
The construction industry is becoming more streamlined and efficient every day. Every aspect of the industry, including the cranes we use, is being upgraded to complete jobs with more efficiency and safety than ever before. The RT890E, the 90-ton crane from Grove is no exception. It makes itself known as a mainstay of the industry with its power, cost saving features, and adaptability.
The boom of the RT890E has a tip height of 142 feet. The fully powered boom has five sections and is designed in MEGAFORM’s signature U shaped design. This design increases capacity by eliminating the need of stiffeners. A 56 foot swingaway jib can increase the maximum tip height to 206 feet.
The four outriggers are hydraulic single stage double box beam outriggers with inverted jacks and integral holding valves. The outrigger boxes can be removed for easier transportation and reduce the weight of the crane by 19,374 pounds. Powering the RT890E is a 275HP Cummins diesel engine and It also employs a powershift transmission,4-wheel drive, and steering. The crane can maneuver around the jobsite while the boom is extended and the inserts are installed.
To wrap up, the RT890E is a great crane for any jobsite because it has:
- MEGAFORM’s signature U shaped boom
- 206-foot maximum tip height
