American HC 50 Crane Overview and Specifications

Produced by Terex, the American HC 50 is a hydraulic crawler crane that’s nimble, yet, very capable of performing tough tasks. It has a 50 ton (45.4 t) max lift capacity, 160 ft. (48.8m) max lift crane boom length, and a 130+40 ft. (39.6+12.2 m) max lift crane boom & Jib length.
Despite its heavy-duty capabilities, the American HC 50’s operator cab offers a quiet and comfortable ride with a wide viewing range. That’s not the only feature to love inside this crane’s operator-friendly cab though. The easy-to-use, ergonomically designed controls are designed to minimize operator fatigue, meaning increased productivity on projects.
The cab also comes with a handful of luxuries like an adjustable seat, air conditioning, radio, overhead window, and sun visor just to name a few. Operator comfort was a priority when the HC 50 was being designed. Compared to larger cranes, the HC 50 is easy to transport thanks to its 10 ft. 10 in. (3.3 m) base and 10 ft. 8 in. (3.25 m) height. Its total transport weight is only 64,720 pounds (29,357 kg).
Other awesome features of the HC 50 include heavy-duty car body and crawlers, a robust Cummins 6BTA5.9 Turbocharged after-cooled diesel engine, its 60-gallon fuel capacity, a powerful, high-speed hoist system, a high-capacity hydraulic system, and a two-piece removable counter weight system.
