American HC 80 Crane Overview and Specifications

The Terex-American HC 80 is a crawler crane with a maximum lift capacity of 80 tons. The maximum length of the boom is 200 feet and the maximum jib length is 60 feet.

The engine of the HC 80 is a Cummins QSB6.7. This engine is fuel injected diesel powered, Tier III compliant, and has an intercooled, Turbocharged, 60-galgallon fuel tank. Two identical inline independent main and auxiliary load hoisting drums make up the hoist system and give the HC 80 the power to complete lifts. Each drum can be controlled further in stepless mode, has power up/down, and has enough work space in front of the drum to do maintenance and install cables.

The Terex HC 80 is also one of the most easily transportable cranes in its class. The counterweight system, a three-piece pin connected set of weights, can be easily assembled or dissembled quickly. The hydraulic counterweight removal system allows for even easier assembly. The HC 80 cab be transported on only three trucks. This saves money on shipping and time on assembly when reaching the jobsite.

The cab of the HC 80 was designed with comfort and safety in mind. The air conditioning, ergonomically placed controls, and adjustable seat are just a few of the features keeping the operator comfortable. The extra wide view and load moment indicator are just a couple of the features that make the HC 80 safe for the operator and others on the jobsite.
