Demag AC 40 Crane Overview and Specifications
The Demag AC 40 is a compact—yet capable—all-terrain crane that comes with a 45 ton (40 t) max lift capacity, 99.7 ft. (30.4 m) main boom length, and a 49.2 ft. (15 m) max jib length.
Powered by a water-cooled, 6-cylinder DaimlerChrysler OM 906 LA engine which produces up to 279 (205 kW), the AC 40 comes with a fully hydraulic boom system that provides the shortest telescoping times and high load telescoping capacity. It also comes with an automated powershift transmission system, 4 fully hydraulic telescopic outrigger beams and jacks, and a hydropneumatic suspension system which allows for manual and automatic leveling.
Besides its impressive capabilities, the AC 40 is just as remarkable when it comes to operator comfort. It comes with a spacious two-seater cab, equipped with air conditioning and full instrumentation & travel controls. For those interested in getting a bit more from the AC 40, available options include the main boom extension, rooster sheave, hook blocks, a bi-carburation system, and a Telma brake retarder just to name a few.
