Demag CC 1500 Crane Overview and Specifications

The Demag CC 1500 is the most powerful crawler crane in its class. It has an impressive max lift capacity of 303 tons (275 t), a 334 ft. (102 m) main boom max length, and a 118 ft. (36 m) max jib length.

It comes standard with a DaimlerChrysler type OM 501 diesel engine which produces up to 353 (260 kW). The design of the CC 1500 maximizes transport weight and dimensions, with features like tracks that are individually powered by one hydraulic motor each thanks to closed planetary gear reduction units that are fitted with spring-applied, hydraulically-released holding brakes.

The frame is a torsion-resistant welded structure that is made out of high-strength, fine-grain structural steel, attached to the carrier by a triple-row roller bearing slew ring. The Demag CC 1500 also comes with a large—and comfortable—cab with safety glazing, equipped with a self-contained hot air heater. It also comes with full instrumentation and crane controls, all powered by a 24 volt electric system.

For those looking to get a bit more out of this powerful crane, there are several options available including: assembly jacks for the easy installation of crawlers, track shoes, additional outriggers for easy assembly of longer booms without the auxiliary crane, air conditioning for the cab, and a cylinder or a sheave on the A-frame for the self-assembly of crawler side frames.
