Grove RT870 Crane Overview and Specifications

The Grove RT870 comes standard with a 70 ton (64 t) maximum lift capacity, a 125 ft. (38 m) main boom max length, and a max jib length of 60 ft. (18 m). The Grove RT870 is powered by a Turbocharged, six-cylinder Cummins 6CTA 8.3L diesel engine which generates up to 250 (191 kW). The Cummins engine can be exchanged for a Caterpillar 3116TA diesel engine, and it comes standard with an 80 gallon (303 L) fuel tank.

The box-section frame is fabricated from high-strength, low alloy steel, and it comes with important outrigger housings and tie down lugs.

It features a full vision steel-fabricated operator’s cab that comes with acoustical lining and tinted safety glass, and its advanced dash panel is equipped with gauges for all engine functions. Other standard features in the cab include: a hydraulic oil cab heater/defroster, a telescoping tilt wheel, sliding side and rear windows, opening skylight, electric skylight wipers, a fire extinguisher, and an ashtray.

There are also a host of options available for those who would like to push this versatile rough terrain crane’s capabilities even further. These include: an engine block heater, air conditioning, boom mounted worklights, cross axle differential locks, 3rd wrap indicators, an auxiliary oil cooler, and remote-mounted cab spotlights.
