The frame of the LTM 1450−8.1 comes in two parts. The carrier section is torsion resistant and made of high tensile fine grained structural steel. The superstructure section of the frame is torsionally rigid steel and connected to the carrier section by a triple roller slewing rim. The outrigger system consists of four hydraulically telescoping outriggers. The system has automatic leveling and an electronic inclination display.

The automatic transmission system comes standard with a torque converter and an intarder. The 12 forward speeds and 2 reverse speeds give more control to the operator. The brake system consists of a service brake, an all-wheel servo air brake, disc brakes acting on all wheels, an exhaust flap brake, and a spring-loaded hand brake acting on all wheels.
