National 1400H Crane Overview and Specifications

The National 1400H is a boom truck with a maximum lift capacity of 33 tons. The five section boom has a maximum length of 127 feet, the longest in its class. By increasing the length of the main boom, the need for a jib is avoided, thus eliminating the amount of time and energy required to assemble and disassemble one.

Easy glide boom wear pads come standard with each 1400H and limit the conditions that can cause chatter. Boom pads ensure that the crane can operate at a smoother level. Retractor cables and boom bearings can be greased through access holes in the boom side plates. The number of parts inside of the boom has been reduced to make maintenance a quicker and easier thing.

The 1400H focuses on safety. Every national boom truck is equipped with an LMI. The LMI informs the operator when the load capacity has been reached and can limit hazardous situations that could arise due to an overload. The LMI displays all lifting valves at the same time so problems can be seen as quickly as possible.

The outrigger system on the 1400H have a 24.5-foot span and a mid-span of 18.5 feet. Ball and socket aluminum outrigger pads come standard on mainframe outriggers and are removable to meet the needs of any jobsite. A control knob on the swing motor brake release valve can adjust the swing speed easily in order to fit the operator’s preferences or needs.
