Terex RT 45 Crane Overview and Specifications

The Terex RT45 is a rough terrain crane with a maximum lifting capacity of 49 tons. The maximum boom length is 102 feet and the maximum jib length is 49 feet.

The RT45 has a formed-steel boom 4-section boom, which can raise in 75 seconds and lower in 70 seconds. The lift angle for luffing is a wide range from 78 degree to -2 degrees. A hydraulic motor and a normally engaged brake are also included in the system. The hoist system is a rope roller device, with 2 hoist pull speeds with 262 feet per minute being the fastest speed allow for increased control. A power shift system comes with the RT45 that can run in manual or automatic mode. If in manual mode, there are 3 forward speeds while if the RT45 is in automatic mode, there are 5 forward speeds.

The cab of the RT45 was designed with comfort and safety in mind. A radio, a diesel heater, and ergonomically designed controls keep the operator comfortable while an adjustable working light outside the cab and a load moment indicator with a graphic interface keep the operator and others on the jobsite safe. The upper structure, including the cab have nonstop rotation of 360 degrees, and the structure can rotate 1.8 times per minute. The hydraulic system is composed of one 3 section pump, 2 of which are variable displacement pumps and one of which is a section gear pump.
