Bigge Lifts Pedestrian Bridges for Super Bowl LI in Texas

Cranes at Work |

Last month, Bigge’s Manitex TC400 and Grove TMS9000E truck cranes lifted and placed multiple pedestrian bridges for Super Bowl LI at NRG Stadium, and its Super Bowl Live experience at Discovery Green in Houston. The bridges were placed in order for pedestrians to go up and over high traffic roads in the downtown Houston area. Each bridge that was placed weighed 26,000 lbs and the lifts occurred on a strict timeline due to traffic congestion regulations.

The bridge lifts were executed flawlessly and in time for the festivities. The area where Super Bowl Live encompassed was more than 750,000 square feet and featured live music performances, interactive exhibits, a 3D light show, and food trucks. This year’s Super Bowl LI was held on Sunday February 5, 2017 and had over 111.3 million viewers. Bigge is proud to continue its work on America’s stadiums and looks forward to the next big project.
