Demag AC 1000 Crane Overview and Specifications

The Terex-Demag AC 1000 is an all-terrain crane with a maximum lift capacity of 1320 tons. The maximum boom length is 164 feet. The maximum length of the jib is 242 feet. The head of the boom has 10 integrated sheaves, increasing the maximum lift capacity and overall strength of the boom. The boom has a single cylinder telescoping system with automatic telescoping.

The carrier has a tier IV compliant engine operating at 653 horsepower capable of moving the crane around the jobsite. The fuel tank holds 211 gallons of diesel, ensuring that the crane can spend more time operating and less time refueling.

The hydro-pneumatic suspension system is hydraulically lockable and comes standard with axle-load compensation. The suspension system allows for manual or automatic leveling. The dual circuit hydro semi block steering system comes with an emergency steering pump. The rear axles have active steering and come with different steering programs to adapt to each jobsite. The brake system is composed of a pneumatic circuit service brake, disc brakes, ABS, a hydraulic retarder integrated into the transmission, a sustained action brake, an additional exhaust brake, and a spring loaded parking brake.

The cab of the AC 1000 comes with amenities such as air conditioning and heat to keep the operator comfortable as well as safety features such as the electronic immobilizer system that limits the ability for the crane to exit predefined jobsites. Other safety features on the crane include a positioning light, a Xenon work floodlight, and a rearview camera.
