Demag AC 335 Crane Overview and Specifications

The Demag AC335 is a 165 ton all terrain crane. It has a maximum boom length of 164 feet and a maximum jib length of 98 feet.

The AC335 was designed with maneuverability in mind. It can reach speeds of 44 miles per hour, allowing the AC335 to cross large jobsites in a time efficient manner. It also allows for a reverse speed of 3.8 mph. By limiting the reverse speed, Demag forces the operator to pay attention to their surroundings while reversing, thus limiting the amount of injuries and potentially hazardous occurrences on the jobsite. The transmission that makes this all possible is the ZF-Transmatik synchromesh torque converter with an electro-pneumatic gearshift. The hydro-pneumatic all axle suspension, which is actually three systems independent of one another, allows for a smooth ride throughout the jobsite.

While the AC335 focuses on maneuvering through jobsites, it does not compromise on its power. The 435 horsepower Damier-Benz OM 442 LA water-cooled eight cylinder diesel engine pushes out a massive amount of power, completing any job with ease. The boom is a five section hydraulically telescoping boom, and features the familiar Demag “ovaloid” design, to maximize lifting abilities.

The cab comes equipped with amenities designed for the safety and comfort of the operator. The load moment limiter informs operators when they are about to increase their load limit, thus helping them avoid disaster. It also comes standard with a hot air heater, to allow operators to work in extreme conditions and meet any deadline.
