Grove GMK4115L Crane Overview and Specifications

The Grove GMK4115L is an all-terrain crane with a maximum lift capacity of 115 tons. The maximum length of the boom is 197 feet, and the maximum jib length is 56 feet. The boom of the GMK4115L is a 7 section, full power MEGAFORM boom with TWIN-Lock pinning.

The Grove team chose the best when picking a suspension system. The MEGATRAK suspension system, paired with the all-wheel steer system, ensure that all wheels will stay on the ground so tires wear down at the same rate and axles are not constantly shifting weight on and off of each other. The driveline of the MEGATRAK system stays constantly aligned. All of these features ensure that the crane will require less maintenance, and will spend more time completing the job at hand.

The GMK4115L is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 460 LA engine, capable of completing any job. The Daimler Chrysler G249-16 transmission has 16 forward and 2 reverse speeds, allowing for complete control of the vehicle.

While the crane itself is an absolute beast, Grove insured that the technology inside the crane is also top of the line. The Grove team added CraneSTAR, an asset management system, to the GMK4115L. The system monitors data about the crane and informs the user of important information, allowing the operator to possibly save time and money by avoiding waste and potentially hazardous situations the crane is put in that might lead to excess maintenance required. In addition, the load moment indicator warns when the crane’s lift capacity is close to being eclipsed.
