Grove GMK6400 Crane Overview and Specifications

The Grove GMK6400 is the strongest six-axle crane on the market. It has a max lift capacity of 450 tons (408 t), a 197 ft. (60 m) max main boom length, and a 259 ft. (79 m) max jib length. It’s powered by an eight-cylinder, water-cooled and Turbocharged Mercedes-Benz OM 502 LA diesel engine which produces up to 543 (405kW) and a massive 172 gallon (650 l) fuel tank. It also comes standard with a state-of-the-art MegaDrive™ system, cutting-edge MEGATRAK™ suspension, and a ZF AS Tronic automatic transmission system.

The all-aluminum cab of the 6400 has several features operators will surely appreciate. The 20 degree tiltable cab comes standard with an adjustable operator seat, safety glass, CD player, air conditioning, and armrest-integrated crane controls.

It also comes with a load moment and anti-two block system that provides visual/audio warnings to the operator, as well as a control lever lockout which electronically displays: boom radius, length, tip, angle height, maximum permissible load, relative load moment, load indication, and warning of impending two-block condition.

For those interested in pushing this mobile all-terrain crane even further, there are several options available. These include: a hydraulic driveline retarder that is integrated into the Allison transmission, an engine-independent diesel cab heater, steel outrigger pads, a trailer hitch, and strobe lights.
