Liebherr LTM 1150-5.3 Crane Overview and Specifications

The Liebherr LTM 1150−5.3 is a versatile and dynamic all terrain mobile crane with strong lifting capabilities and a long reach. With an axle load of twelve tonnes, the crane can carry nine tonnes of ballast on public roads, and can compete with 200 tonne cranes and truck cranes. This mobile crane comes with multiple driving features such as ECOmode, ECOdrive with Traxon, and HillStart-Aid allowing to get to and from the job site safely and efficiently no matter the terrain.

The Liebherr LTM 1150−5.3 has a max. lifting capacity of 150 metric tons (175 US tons). The telescopic boom can move 360° and reaches out to 66 m (217 ft), the max. hoist height is 92 m (302 ft) with a max. radius of 72 m(236 ft). Its powerful telescopic boom can be extended with lots of add-on jibs, compatible with other Liebherr cranes with lifting capacities between 100 metric tons (110 US tons) and 180 metric tons (198 US tons).

Powering the LTM 1150−5.3 is Liebherr’s undercarriage diesel single-engine 6‑cylinder pushing 400 kW/​544 bhp and a torque of 2516 Nm. The weight reduction created by the elimination of the superstructure engine is used to deliver a longer boom and more lifting capacity. A 12-speed gearbox with an automatic control system and a two-stage transfer case with lockable transfer differential makes driving less stressful. All axles are mounted on hydropneumatic suspension.

The crane cab has a large screen made of compound glass making it visible for the operator to see his surroundings and can tilt 20° to rear. LICCON 2 comes standard with a safe load indicator, test system, and hoist limit switch. LICCON allows the operator to move and plan safely with the help of state of the art indicators.

With better working capabilities Liebherr has incorporated the latest technology to make working easier and safer. By using lifting capacity tables with different max. wind speeds operators can work safely and in various environments. Not all terrain is the same and with VarioBase, the crane’s support system can adapt to its surroundings. It enables each outrigger to be extended to a different length, especially in constricted spaces making lifting capacities increase significantly, particularly over the outriggers and depending on the configuration.
