Liebherr MK 140 Crane Overview and Specifications
The Liebherr MK 140 is an all-terrain mobile construction crane with a maximum lift capacity of 8 tons. The MK 140 comes standard with 196 feet of jib. The massive length of the jib allows the MK 140 to li situations that other cranes never could. Little space is needed for assembling the jib, as the assembly curve is high overhead. The jib’s angle can be shifted in operating position, allowing for less time to be wasted and thus saving more money.
The outrigger system supporting the crane and massive jib is a 4 point support system with automatic leveling. The suspension also features an automatic leveling system. The ZF-Servocom steering system is a hydraulic steering system with active rear steering and five different drive programs, to meet the needs of any job. The brake system includes a service brake acting on all wheels, disc brakes acting on all axles, a spring loaded handbrake acting on all wheels of axles 2-5, a sustained action brake, and an anti-lock device. The inclusion of multiple brakes keeps the operator and all others on the jobsite safe.
The MK 140 is powered by a 6 cylinder, 544 horsepower, and Liebherr D964 A7 SCR engine. The transmission is a ZF gearbox with an automatic AS-TRONIC control system. 12 forward and 2 backward speeds give the operator the ability to maneuver through any jobsite and avoid any hazardous situations that may arise.
