Tadano ATF 180G-5 Crane Overview and Specifications

The Tadano ATF 180G‑5 is an all-terrain crane with a maximum lift capacity of 200 tons, and a maximum boom length of 196.9 feet. The six-section boom is made of high tensile, fine grained steel. There is one base section, and 5 telescoping sections controlled by a single telescopic cylinder. The telescopic sections can be extended under partial load, allowing for faster lifts. The head of the boom has 7 sheaves, increasing the strength and maximum lift capacity of the Tadano ATF 180G‑5.

The carrier engine is a Tier IV rated 530 6‑cylinder Mercedes-Benz OM 471 LA water cooled diesel engine. The superstructure engine, a Mercedes-Benz OM 934 LA, puts out 175 and is also Tier IV compliant. The transmission is a ZF-AS-Tronic 16 AS 2531 mechanical transmission with an electro-pneumatically operated clutch and automatic gear shifting for 12 forward and 2 reverse speeds.

The frames of both the carrier and superstructure are made out of torsion resistant high strength steel and contain a central lubricating system. The superstructure frame is connected to the carrier by a single-row ball-bearing slewing ring. The brake system is composed of service brakes, parking brakes, and auxiliary brakes. The steering system is a ZF-Servocom, dual circuit hydraulic steering system with an emergency steering pump and mechanical hydraulically-assisted steering of the front two axles and automatic steering of the 3rd and 4thaxles.
