The Kobelco CK850G‑2 is a hydraulic crawler crane with a maximum lifting capacity of 77 metric tons (85 U.S. tons), a maximum crane boom length of 61m (200 ft.), and a fixed jib combination of: 54m (180 ft.) + 18m (60 ft.). The CK850G‑2 comes with telescopic type boom backstops with a spring bumper. The boom and jib attachments consist of welded lattice construction using tubular, high-tensile steel chords with pin connections between sections. Optional inserts and sheaves are available as well.

The CK850G‑2 features a high-power HINO J08E-UV series with a common rail fuel system diesel engine. The engine is a vertical inline 6 cylinder, water-cooled, with direct fuel injection, and comes with a turbocharger. It cranks out 285 with a fuel tank that holds 400 liters to ensure high efficiency and long working hours. The main pumps of the hydraulic system consist of 2 variable displacement piston pumps which are controlled using a full-flow hydraulic control system for infinitely variable pressure to all winches, propel, and swing. The controls respond instantly to the touch, delivering smooth function operation. This crawler crane features a front and rear drum for load hoist with standard drum lock and negative brake.

The Kobelco CK850G‑2 is reliable, has convenient maintenance, and is easy to transport. The full-vision cab is totally enclosed and has safety glass all around. The controls consist of four adjustable levers for front drum, rear drum, boom drum and swing controls of the crane that are conveniently located in the cab.
