Broderson RT-400 Crane Overview and Specifications

Official Manufacturer Model Name: Broderson RT-400

The Broderson RT-400 is a rough terrain crane with a maximum lifting capacity of 20 tons. It has a maximum tip height of 98 feet and an optional boom extension.

The most powerful crane the people at Broderson have ever created is powered by an EPA Tier‑4 Compliant 4.5L Cummins Turbo Diesel Engine. The four-section boom of the RT400 extends and retracts sequentially. This sequentially extending boom has a continuous 360-degree rotation and results in lifting heavier loads higher and less whip while moving heavy loads.

The six speed powershift transmission was built for moving while having a heavy load and makes for a smooth ride in rough conditions. 3 mode steering, rugged high capacity axles, and 4‑wheel drive makes the RT-400 a true rough terrain crane. The hydraulic system includes a heavy-duty triple hydraulic gear pump that will ensure long lasting use. The hydraulic control system allows for ease of use, and can be used to be extremely precise.

The cab of the RT-400 is easier to get in than previous generations with re-designed steps and a cab canopy. The cab is weather controlled with heating and air condition and has ergonomically placed controls. The engine compartment and hydraulic equipment components are also easily accessible for quick maintenance. A rated capacity limiter allows the operator to know if an overload could possibly occur and increases the safety of the jobsite.
