The Link-Belt LS-248H is a hydraulic powered lattice boom crawler crane. It’s compact design and self-assembly make the crane great for projects in places that larger cranes can’t fit.

The LS-248H has a max. lifting capacity of 181.44 metric tons (200 U.S. tons). The conventional open throat boom can reach up to 86.87 m (285 ft). The combination of boom and jib the max. reach is 74.68 m + 30.48 m (245 ft + 100 ft) of offsettable jib for a tip height of 105.76 m (347 ft). The luffing attachment has a 43.1 metric tons (47.2 US tons) capacity with a 102.11 m (335 ft) luffing attachment with 360° capacities, utilizing conventional boom for luffing boom. The maximum combination that can be configured is 45.72 m + 54.86 m+ 9.14 m (150 ft + 180 ft + 30 ft).

The LS-248H features a high-power Cummins Tier4 Final QSB6.7 6 cylinder diesel engine with a 122-gallon fuel tank, pushing 270 HP/2,000 rpm. A variable displacement hydraulic system provides maximum reliability and precise load control. The hydraulic jacking system lifts the upper, lower frame, and tread members off the ground.

The crawler mounting lower frame is made of welded high strength steel. The side frames are removable and each frame comes with lifting brackets. The steering has an axial piston motor with a reduction gear located at the inner drive of each crawler side frame. Each side frame contains a pilot-controlled, bi‐directional, axial piston motor, and a planetary gear reduction unit to provide positive control under all load conditions.

The cab has an ergonomic design and insulated against noise and vibration giving the operator comfort for those long working hours. The seat can be adjusted six ways, the boom hoist control is operated using a hand and foot throttle. A PAT DS-350 rated capacity limiter is standard.
