Potain Tower Crane Helps Build Residential Units in Santa Cruz

Cranes at Work |

The Pacific Front Laurel residential development in Santa Cruz occupies an entire downtown block between Pacific Avenue, Front, and Laurel streets. Groundbreaking and construction began in 2021, and in 2022, Bigge deployed a Potain MDT219 flat top tower crane to advance building progress further. Busy moving materials — primary wood frame components — and equipment across the job site, this Potain City Class crane is a perfect fit.

This project will provide the community with 205 market-rate housing units with ground-floor shops upon completion. The structure will consist of six stories plus two levels of underground parking.

The Potain MDT 219 can be built up to 231 feet tall, has a maximum capacity of 11 tons, and a maximum jib length of 213 feet, making it one of our most popular and versatile models. It can be assembled on a chassis with ballast or on anchors embedded in a concrete foundation. The crane It balances height, jib length, and capacity to serve our customer efficiently.
