Bigge Gives WrestleMania its Ring

Bigge continues to make history at Levi’s Stadium putting together the first ever WWE WrestleMania event in the San Francisco Bay area. WrestleMania 31 broke Levi’s Stadium attendance record by wildly entertaining 70,800 fans and grossing more than any other WWE event in history at over $12.6 million.

Bigge lifted and placed the wrestling ring, the steel cage, the on field seats and the catwalks that covered what is normally the San Francisco 49ers field. Bigge used the Liebherr LTM 1220 and the Link-Belt HTC 3140. At a max lifting capacity of 220 tons and 197 feet of telescopic boom, the LTM 1220 is a high capacity, versatile all terrain crane with the ability to drive into the stadium, yet still make the large picks. The Link-Belt HTC 3140, a 140 ton crane with 195 feet of main boom was its perfect partner, allowing the team maneuverability as the spaces got tighter.

Bigge Helps Build the Tallest Tower in Western U.S.

Bigge Crane and Rigging is nearing the end of an over two year engagement helping to construct the Wilshire Grand Center in Downtown Los Angeles, CA. When completed, the Wilshire Grand will be a 74-story, 1100-foot tall mixed condominium, and office and retail complex. It will be the tallest building West of the Mississippi River.

Since the middle of 2014, Bigge has provided a Comedil CTL 630 Luffing Tower Crane to the jobsite. Currently, the CTL 630 is finishing construction on the parking garage and retail mezzanine. Bigge expects to be on site until the fall of 2015, with the entire $1 billion tower complex opening for operation in 2017.

Another interesting fact about the project is that it has the largest and deepest foundation of any building on the West Coast. Over 21,000 cubic yards of concrete was poured over 20 hours, creating an 18 foot thick foundation, and setting a Guinness World Record in the process.

Bigge Pumps Iron for Hofheinz Pavilion Expansion

March Madness in Houston as Bigge Crane and Rigging helps erect the iron to expand the University of Houston basketball arena. Bigge used a 90 ton Link-Belt rough terrain crane and several support cranes to help erect the iron that will be the skeleton of the expanded arena. The arena will house two new practice courts, office suites for the men's and women's basketball and volleyball programs, team academic/video rooms and space for sports medicine and sports performance.

The renovations, which are expected to cost approximately $40 million, will put fans closer to the action with 250 floor seats and 100 loge box seats. Ideally, the new home to the Houston Cougars will be ready for the 2016-2017 basketball season.

Bigge Erects Historic Barn in Katy, TX

Bigge recently erected a barn in Katy, Texas renowned for having the largest straight wooden beam in any structure in North America. The barn, a legendary event center, was transported beam by beam from Ohio to Katy to be reassembled.

It was easily dissembled for transport  because the barn is 100% notched construction, a style perfected by the Amish and dated to the 1800's. It relies on heavy beams and extraordinarily precise assembly rather than nails for support. Bigge used a 90 ton Linkbelt rough-terrain crane to construct it over two nights this past February. Now finished, the barn will soon host weddings and events in Katy for years to come.

Bigge Launches Massive Website Overhaul

After a near six-figure overhaul, the new is ready for its close-up. Bursting with new features, the industry leading Heavy Rigging and Transportation Company now has an industry best website to match.

First up, the homepage has been completely redesigned to feature videos and photos of the world-class projects with which Bigge is involved in as well as the quick quote system. Navigation within the Bigge crane sales and crane rental pages has never been easier or more useful. With just a few clicks, users can browse through our giant crane inventory by capacity, crane type, manufacturer, year, and engine type, and sort the results in the same way.

The new makes it easy to get a quote on any crane or even multiple quotes at once. This can be done directly from both the crane listings, the crane detail pages or virtually anywhere on the site. Navigation for Bigge’s heavy rigging and transportation capabilities have also been improved. Users are now able to search capabilities, equipment and see examples of prior projects all from one page.

Finally, Bigge has laid the groundwork for an exclusive feature, My Bigge, a universal dashboard tracking every sales and rental request. On the sales side, users are able to see an archive of the cranes he or she has requested a quote for, along with any additional communication. For rentals, My Bigge will catalog any cranes on rent and the details of every engagement, allowing for clearer on-demand access to critical job information. Rather than having disparate quotes or having to dig through paperwork for the details of every crane on rent, My Bigge provides a clear, centralized hub for all Bigge interaction.
