Terex AC 40/2L Crane Overview and Specifications

The Terex AC 40/2L is an all-terrain crane with a maximum lift capacity of 44 tons. The maximum boom length is 99 feet and the maximum jib length is 49 feet.

The boom of the Terex AC 40/2L has 1 base section and 3 telescoping sections made up of high strength fine grain structural steel. One double acting cylinder telescopes two sections of the crane while cables raise the fourth section simultaneously. If a longer boom length is required for your job, it is possible to purchase separate sections from Terex.

The transmission system of the Terex AC 40/2L is an automated power shift transmission with a torque converter and an integral transfer case. There are 6 forward and 2 reverse speeds with a longitudinal differential lockout control. The brake system is composed of a service brake, a dual line air system acting on all wheels, ABS, a spring loaded parking brake working on all axles, a sustained action brake, an exhaust brake, and a constant choke valve. The hydropneumatic suspension system has automatic or manual leveling to complete lifts in many different situations.

Counterweight ranges from 2 to 3.6 tons and can be used or shipped with the Terex AC 40/2L depending on the need of the job and the local road regulations. Operator aids include an electronic load moment indicator, a hoist limit switch, and pressure relief and safety holding valves.
