About Bigge Crane
Bigge is a diversified equipment and project services company with a commitment to achieving customer success and leadership in our industry. Bigge operates throughout the United States, and in key geographies worldwide, providing innovative solutions and quality equipment for heavy lift, heavy transport, and other customer needs. Bigge serves the commercial, government, and industrial markets including the power generation and petroleum refinery sectors.
The Company was founded by Henry W. Bigge, who established Bigge Drayage Company in 1916. Brock Settlemier is Chairman of Bigge and Weston Settlemier, the third generation to manage this family-owned firm, became President in January 2000. Bigge has always believed it could best serve its customers by hands-on management of the services needed and utilization of its own fleet of heavy lift equipment and transportation equipment. Today Bigge owns and maintains its fleet and directs the work with its in-house team of supervisors, project managers, and engineers.
Bigge has been richly involved in the development of California. Bigge hauled steel for the building of the Golden Gate Bridge and transported Liberty ship sections during World War II. Bigge has contributed to the erection of fossil and nuclear power stations and every refinery in Northern California. Bigge also assisted in the San Francisco Bay Area’s recovery from the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.
Bigge has been repeatedly recognized with the Outstanding Rigging Job of the Year award by the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association as well as other organizations' Safety Award and Zero Accident Award. Bigge has a commitment to quality assurance unparalleled in the industry.
